Base4Innovation gets Royal Society backing

Warwick spin-out company, Base4Innovation which is developing ultra-fast DNA sequencing technology has benefitted from investment from the Royal Society Enterprise Fund. Base4Innovation was set up in 2008 with assistance from Warwick Ventures, the University of Warwick’s technology transfer office. It is now based in Cambridge, and working to develop a radically new method of ultra-fast DNA sequencing using techniques based on silicon chip technology which can easily be scaled up.

Warwick Fingerprint Technology Beats World’s Toughest Tests

Technology developed by the University of Warwick that can identify partial, distorted, scratched, smudged, or otherwise warped fingerprints in just a few seconds has just scored top marks in the world’s two toughest technical fingerprint tests. The technology is also being rapidly taken up by the UK building trade who are delighted to have fingerprint technology which can cope with the often worn and ravaged builders’ thumbprints.

Warwick Audio Technologies wins an award in a major regional competition

Warwick Audio Technologies was presented with the Most Innovative Product Award during the 2009 Lord Stafford Award ceremony, held at Gaydon Heritage Motor Museum in November 2009. The loudspeaker technology being developed by the company has advantages for a wide range of products where space or weight is at a premium, such as inside cars or aircraft.

goHDR Ltd Celebrates National Technology Award

Warwick Spin-Out, goHDR, has beaten off stiff regional competition in the ICT Excellence Awards 2009. goHDR was Highly Commended in the Technology Strategy Board’s Special Award for High Growth Potential 2009 category. The judges were impressed by the company’s High Dynamic Range (HDR) video compression technology. HDR techniques are currently used in medical and creative industries where there is a requirement to visualise high quality imagery, in different lighting situations.
